Our experience was excellent. We travelled with our 8-month-old baby and the rest of the family, and the house was perfect for our group. It is beautiful and incredibly spacious, easily accommodating larger groups while still offering plenty of smaller spaces for privacy and quiet time. The location, right in the heart of Lamu Town, gives the house a wonderful atmosphere and makes it very easy to experience the town and its surroundings. Chef Steve’s food was excellent throughout our stay—very fresh, tasty and healthy. Anthony and the rest of the team were extremely attentive, friendly and always ready to help. Elizabeth was also available throughout our stay, helping us organize activities and regularly checking that everything was going well. We accidentally left a few items behind, and she even helped arrange for them to be shipped back to us in Nairobi. We have been to Lamu before, and if we come back again, this will definitely be our place to stay. Highly recommended!

The Ttunu House Experience
The accommodations and the staff Elizabeth ( manager) , Steven ( cook) and Anthony ( butler) and the new gentleman working with Anthony ( sorry I can't recall his name) were ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL, professional and overall great people . The cook was absolutely marvelous. He listened to our request and delivered with every meal!!. Anthony was pleasant and patient. When visiting Lamu, we now have a place to come with every stay. We felt at home

Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll - spartanisch ausgestattet, was dem Ort Lamu gerecht wird. Es verfügt über einen eigenen Koch und einen Housekeeper die sich vorbildlich um das Wohl der Gäste kümmern.
Lamu ist zu 90% muslimisch. Man sollte nicht unbedingt in der Zeit des Ramadan dorthin reisen, da die Dauerbeschallung der zahlreichen Muezzins von eine Vielzahl von Moscheen gerade nachts sehr stören kann. Lamu selbst ist sehr dreckig und bedauerlicherweise fehlt es der lokalem Bevölkerung an Empathie gegenüber dem Umgang mit dem Weltkulturerbe. Jedoch haben es vor allem Leute von weit außerhalb verstanden, in Lamu Refugien zu errichten, die Tradition und Zeitgeist zusammen bringen. Das Haus ist ein gutes Beispiel dafür.

Beautiful stay at Ttunu House!
The whole house is incredible. The photos don’t do it justice online. It is a little paradise in Lamu town. The staff were incredible - Stephen’s cooking was delicious and they were attentive while still giving us tons of space. We absolutely loved our whole experience and stay.
