Nature and luxury
Wonderful experience, so many animals on property in natural habitat (saw several sloths, squirrel monkeys (on our balcony) and capuchin monkeys - and a Toucan visited the pool area for a while. Great beach and helpful shuttle services. Excellent concierge service to coordinate all plans (thank you Miguel!).

Exceptional Resort and Incredible Service
We had a wonderful stay at Tulemar Resort, and our concierge, Miguel, truly went above and beyond to make our experience seamless. He checked in with us every day, even coordinating the cleaning service around our schedule so we were never disturbed. He helped with food orders, restaurant reservations, excursions, and anything else we needed. Miguel was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. His exceptional service made our stay even more enjoyable. We highly recommend Tulemar and especially Miguel!

Pura Vida: Incredible Ocean Views, Balcony Monkeys, and Outstanding Service
Tulemar served as the ideal backdrop for our family getaway to Costa Rica. The entire resort was breathtaking, completely exceeding everything we had anticipated. Our bungalow offered stunning views of both the jungle and the ocean—watching monkeys play right from our balcony and taking in the gorgeous evening sunsets were absolute highlights. We owe a special thank you to our concierge, Miguel Leiva, for going above and beyond throughout our stay. Miguel was remarkably warm, professional, and attentive. He assisted us seamlessly both before and during our stay, happily accommodating us even when our plans required last-minute changes. His genuine kindness made us feel truly welcome. If you are on the fence about booking, don't hesitate. You will be in wonderful hands, and we are already looking forward to returning!

Amazing resort
This resort is truly stunning. The grounds are spectacular — we spotted howler monkeys, squirrel monkeys, toucans, sloths, hummingbirds, and iguanas throughout our stay. The pools are lovely too, with the jungle pool being our favourite; it genuinely felt like stepping into a Jurassic Park scene. Every staff member we met was warm and helpful, particularly the buggy drivers. Given how sprawling the resort is, the buggy service turns out to be essential rather than a nice extra. Our concierge, Jorge, was on WhatsApp whenever we needed anything. As expected, dining on-site comes at a premium. We ate once at Tulecafe — the food was ok, but it was by far the priciest meal of our entire Costa Rica trip, and honestly not the standout dish of the holiday. Fortunately, plenty of restaurants are within walking distance. We particularly enjoyed Agua Azul and El Patio de Café Milagro, the latter serving what might be the best breakfast around. The private beach is a real highlight, offering complimentary sunbeds, boards, kayaks, and beachside food and drink service. Regarding accommodation: traveling as a family of three, the Tulemar villas were beyond our budget, so we booked a standard room, which suited our needs. Interestingly, it was the priciest room we booked anywhere in Costa Rica, yet arguably the least impressive room-wise — though the resort itself may have been the best overall. We decided the trade-off was worth it. We stayed in room 209, part of the standard rooms built as stacked pairs. In hindsight, we’d have preferred room 309 directly above — our upstairs neighbors were fairly loud dragging furniture around, and the higher floor likely offers better views too. A simple fix would be for the hotel to add felt pads to chair legs, since the scraping noise at night was quite disruptive. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the room really seems designed with couples in mind — just two dining chairs and two balcony chairs. It wasn’t the smallest room we’ve stayed in, but the layout was the least practical, with almost no storage space, so our belongings quickly cluttered the dining table. Echoing other feedback, the bathroom felt cramped and dated, and without any ventilation, it becomes hot and humid quickly. The balcony, however, was a genuine pleasure — we watched howler monkeys, toucans, and hummingbirds from there — though a larger coffee table would help. A couple of safety concerns stood out for families with young kids: the dining table’s square glass top sits at an awkward height (I kept bruising my thigh on it, which could pose a real hazard for a small child’s eye level), and the open patio corners could let a young child slip through easily.

Tulemar 2026
Our family’s time in Costa Rica truly unforgettable. Tulemar was the prefer setting for our multi-family, multi-generational get-together. It was clean, quiet and just plain beautiful. And of course, a big part of why our time was so unforgettable was because of Miguel our concierge. He answered all our questions - both before we arrived and while at Tulemar - and offered fantastic suggestions to help us make the most of our time in Manuel Antonio. Above all, he was exceptionally friendly and kind. Our week exploring Tulemar and Manuel Antonio is one that we will always remembers
