A great place to stay in Snowdonia
My wife and I stayed in this property for 4 nights in early October 2026. It is very conveniently situated, outside Llanberis, on the road up to the pass which serves Snowdon and adjacent hills. We found the property to be clean and exceptionally well furnished and organised. It’s also very handy for the local pub. We enjoyed our stay, but I had three small niggles which I believe could be easily rectified.
1.The controller for the heating system was set at 19°C during our visit with the output then managed by a separate TRV on each radiator. The property instructions say that no buttons or knobs on the controller should be touched except one button used to advance the timing of the heating, if needed. The problem we encountered was that none of the radiators in the rooms we used became active, whether or not the central heating “advance” button was pressed. This meant that the bedroom we used and, more importantly, the bathroom, was uncomfortably chilly, and that there was no warm radiator to dry towels and similar. Presumably the area near the thermostat was greater than 19°C so the heating wasn’t triggered and the TRVs were thus irrelevant. This problem could be easily solved by turning the thermostat up a couple of degrees either remotely, if that’s the way it works, or by instructing guests on how to do this on site. 2. The instructions for the wood burning stove said that guests had been provided with a starter pack. In our case this “starter pack” consisted of one small piece of fire lighter, about five or six pieces of kindling and a single log – a bit mean in my view. My suggestion to anyone planning to arrive in the evening is to bring with them a stock of wood so they can light the fire as soon as they arrive. 3. Our allocated parking spot outside the house had been taken on one night so we resorted to using the Park and Ride car park about 250 yards along the road. The instructions say that it is possible to pay for this by phone, but I was unable to find any reference on the parking machines to the usual parking apps. Instead, I had to physically enter the registration number, use a credit card and display a physical ticket. If it is indeed possible to pay by phone, then it would be helpful if the instructions could explain exactly how this can be done remotely.

Cute cottage in an incredible part of Wales.
Cute cottage in a wonderful location. Great welcome guide and loads of hot water and a great, strong shower. Loads of character in the cottage and a very relaxing environment
The property feels damp in general. The towels were very damp-smelling in each room, as if they had not been dried quickly enough after they had been laundered. The sheets also had a damp smell too,
