  A little slice of paradise just outside of Ubud

  Everything. Starting from their attention to the client, which was truly exceptional. Never experienced anything like this before. Especially Jun, Purnamii and Ade were professional, friendly, careful, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. The place itself is an idyllic, beautiful complex, surrounded by nature. It is close to Ubud but with traffic it can take a while to get to the city center. For us this wasn't really an issue as we wanted to stay a bit away from the more touristic and chaotic part of this area. They only have 6 villas which means the place is always quiet and anyone's stay is ensured to be relaxing. Our room was clean and really, really comfortable, and even though it was right on the common pool, we were not bothered once by any noise. We also had the chance to try some of their complementary services and facilities: - Besides their (healthy and delicious) breakfast, we had dinner at their restaurant which ended up feeling like a private (and again, truly delicious) dining experience with an incredible view on the jungle and rice fields. - We booked a one-day tour through temples and Jatiluwih with one of their recommended driver/guides, Ari, which was one of the best guides we've had throughout our whole 3-weeks trip in Indonesia. - I booked a yoga lesson in the morning - also one of the best yoga classes I've ever experienced, the teacher was really good. - We also did laundry with them, which was done really quickly. I still dream of this place and I'll be happy to recommend it to anyone who is headed to Bali. I know that if I'll ever go back, I'll go back there.

  Uma Kalai is absolutely exceptional! The hotel is spotless, and the service is truly outstanding. The food is incredible, and every single meal and drink was delicious - nothing disappointed! Every member of staff is friendly, kind, and welcoming, making the entire experience even more special. I booked a spa treatment every day and felt completely relaxed, comfortable, and pampered throughout my stay. An amazing experience from start to finish. We couldn’t have asked for more! Highly recommended, and we will definitely be back for another stay. Uma Kalai has truly set the bar high! We loved every moment of our stay and are already planning our next visit. Thank you to the entire team for making our experience so unforgettable. We can’t wait to return!

  A true escape into the beauty and peace of Bali.

  This property was expertly designed. The rooms are exquisite. Top finishes and touches. The view is breathtaking. The staff eagerly wanted to do anything to make your stay special. We felt like royalty.

  An unforgettable honeymoon stay We spent four nights at Uma Kalai for our honeymoon, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. The villa itself was beautiful and exceptionally well designed. The bedroom, spacious bathroom with its own steam room, separate living room and private pool area all felt incredibly luxurious, yet warm and peaceful. The private pool was a particular highlight — it felt like a natural extension of the room, creating a wonderful sense of privacy and making the whole villa feel like our own little world. Everything was immaculate and beautifully maintained. The attention to detail throughout the stay was remarkable. Our room was perfectly arranged every day, and the cleanliness of both the villa and pool area was exceptional. Despite being surrounded by nature, we hardly encountered any insects, which was genuinely impressive. The staff were equally wonderful. Every member of the team knew who we were and communicated seamlessly with each other. They were thoughtful and proactive, often anticipating what we might need for our daily plans — even preparing sarongs and towels and making sure they reached our driver before we did. Breakfast and the food were excellent, and the massage was also fantastic.

  Luxurious Ubud stay

  Absolutely beautiful. The staff were amazing. Everything in our villa was perfect. The private pool was beautiful, set in a walled garden The whole hotel is private, quiet and set in beautiful gardens Views from the pool, restaurant and lounge were lovely. We were treated like royalty for 3 days. The staff were so lovely, checking on our every need. We enjoyed the village walk and Jamu cooking lesson included in our stay. Well done Uma Kalai.👏👏👏👏👏

  The food at the restaurant was good but not up to the standard of the accommodation and the service. The beautiful setting and service made up for this though.
