  Convenient and good value

  The apartment is on the first floor, accessed by a flight of stairs, so avoid big suitcases! The host was friendly, helpful and responsive. The apartment was a good size, although the bedroom was quite tight. There was no noise. The facilities were good, and the host left a bottle of wine for us. The location is excellent, just a ten minute stroll down into the town (village) centre, although that does mean uphill on the way back. There is plenty of parking near to the apartment (we arrived on a festival day, and it was very tricky to find parking anywhere in town, but this is obviously not normal). Avoid driving in the town if you can, as the roads were not designed for (modern) cars. There are several walks in the National Park whose start points are just a few minutes from the apartment.

  The lighting throughout the apartment wasn't great. Bigger bulbs are recommended!

  Het appartement ligt helemaal bovenin Grazalema. Daar moet je van bewust zijn als je naar het plein beneden gaat lopen voor de restaurants en supermarktje (of je moet met de auto gaan). Het appartement bevindt zich op de 1e etage, dus wel een aantal treden te gaan met de koffer. Om de hoek zit een parking met voldoende parkeerplaatsen, dat is fijn. Het bed (matras) slaapt heerlijk, lekker stevig. Er stond een fles wijn als welkom. Heel attent.

  Er was geen airco alleen een kleine staande ventilator die ook nogal wat geluid maakt. We waren in een hete periode in Grazalema (boven de 35 graden en s nachts koelde het maar af tot 22 graden, waardoor de warmte in het appartement bleef). We denken dat dit appartement beter te boeken is in een koelere periode, want er is een open haard. Verder verdient dit paradijs wat onderhoud (rolluik bij terrasdeur gaat niet volledig open, lampenkap stuk, geen keukendoek, douchedeur gaat erg moeizaam ed). Met wat aandacht en een airco zou dit een paradijs kunnen zijn.

  We enjoyed the location of this apartment very much. It is beautifully situated among the mountains of Grazalema and within easy walking distance of local cafés, bars and small supermarkets. It also makes a very good base for exploring the surrounding area. The apartment has lots of traditional character, with wooden beams, terracotta floors and traditional tiles. The living room is spacious and there is a good size kitchen. We also appreciated the complimentary bottle of wine on arrival.

  Our main issue was the temperature. We stayed in August and the apartment was very hot and humid when we arrived in the afternoon. I knew when booking that there was no air conditioning, but I had assumed that the mountain location would mean the apartment stayed relatively cool. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. The bedroom was too hot to comfortably rest or sleep, and the only fan provided was a very small one. There was an issue with the hairdryer, so did not have one for the duration of my stay. The property could benefit from some updating. I mentioned this to the owner, who apologised and explained that the apartment is usually not hot and that she had ordered another fan. She also apologised for not responding promptly as she was away on holiday. I appreciated her apology and her willingness to address the issue. However, when operating holiday accommodation, I feel guests should be able to receive a reasonably prompt response when they have an issue during their stay, regardless of whether the owner is away. A small point was that although there was a kettle, there were no tea or coffee supplies. This would have been a nice addition, although the complimentary wine was a thoughtful touch.
