⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 – Urban Style Hôtel de l'Europe, Rouen – Amazing guitar room with a few things to improve! We stayed at Urban Style Hôtel de l'Europe in Rouen, in the guitar-themed room, and absolutely loved the design! It's such a fun and unusual room, with guitars you can actually pick up and play. We had great fun strumming away and taking some brilliant photos. Definitely something different from your usual hotel room! A useful tip for anyone staying in the guitar room, especially if arriving late: When you first walk into the room, the main power switch is on the wall to your right. You need to turn this on first. The switches for the various lights around the room are actually on a control panel above the pillows at the head of the bed. This includes the lighting for the shower, WC (toilet), decorative accessories and stage lighting. So if you're wondering how to turn on the bathroom lights or the other unusual lighting features, that's where to look! We arrived quite late, and with the room being dark, we couldn't figure out where the switches were. My other half actually ended up using the toilet with her phone torch! 😂 The hotel really should leave a simple instruction sheet on the table explaining how the lighting works. It would save guests a lot of confusion, particularly when arriving at night. There were also a few maintenance and cleaning issues. The large speaker tower in the room wasn't working and was covered in a thick layer of dust and dirt. It genuinely looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in years. The handle on the bathroom sink also came off during our stay. We reported all these issues when checking out. One of the other highlights was the location. There are some amazing little cafés just outside the hotel, which we enjoyed exploring the following morning. It's a lovely area of Rouen to wander around. Overall, we really enjoyed staying at Urban Style Hôtel de l'Europe.
