We loved Velazquez Suites and hope to stay here again!
Velazquez Suites was exactly what my family of 5 was looking for. It was comfy and spacious and had everything we needed. There are plenty of grocery stores, the hospital is 4 blocks away and darling bakeries on all corners! We cooked every meal at the apartment (2 of my kids have food allergies) and had everything you need to have a meal; toaster, microwave, tea kettle, pots and pans. We stayed for 6 weeks, too! There is a door man during the week who was also lovely and gave us a few suggestions on things to do in Madrid.

We had an enjoyable time in Madrid.
The apartment is a good size with plenty of seating. The kitchen is small but workable for two people. The main bedroom is at the rear and is dark and quiet with a very good ensuite bathroom. Step-up bath/shower. Apartment was on the 1st floor so didn't have to use the lift on a daily basis. The area felt safe with plenty of eateries and supermarkets. Metro is a 5 minute walk and easy to navigate for tickets but be prepared to walk up and down lots of stairs. There is also a main shopping centre about 10 minutes walk with all the big named shops.
The 2nd bedroom and lounge room overlook a busy five lane main road and only has flimsy net curtains at the windows and these rooms are very brightly lit at night because of the closeness of the street lights. The windows are double glazed but do little to keep out the traffic noise at night. A family member only managed to sleep one night in the second bedroom and had to move to the 3rd bedroom with two single beds, due to the bright lights and traffic noise, which wasn't satisfactory as we had paid for and expected to use 2 large bedrooms.
