    Bring ear plugs!

The apartment is close to the train station and town centre. Early check in was granted. The canal is right outside the living room window. The bedroom’s view is a council estate!

This biggest problem in this apartment was the noise from the guests upstairs. Not the owner’s fault but it still needs to be mentioned. Had I known I would never have booked this apartment. Stamping around like elephants and moving furniture around until late at night. When I am somewhere, I don’t want to hear constant footsteps from above. Then there is the pub across the canal with an outdoor patio, where noisy customers (especially on the w/ends) are sitting outside talking loud (drunk people) all night. The carpets in the apartment were very dirty with staines. I had to wear slippers at all times. Upon my arrival the apartment stank of fried food, the apartment is very tired looking and in desperate need of renovation. Although the apartment was clean, it felt dirty because it was so run down with old furniture. The entrance to the building was untidy, only one bedside lamp, not much space around the bed. Street noise and people passing outside the bedroom (the apartment is on the ground floor) could be heard day and night. When the guests cooked upstairs the smell travelled through the bathroom ventilation into the apartment. The kitchenette was very dated, small fridge, tiny bathroom and shower. A bit odd to have the TV in the bedroom and not in the living room. Not a very comfortable stay. The set up to me felt like I was staying in a shared house. No net curtains meant the people from the pub could look straight into the apartment. This is basically just a big house which has been converted into small apartments. It sadly did not work for me and I shall not return. After listening to people stamping around upstairs for several days, it got too much and I was happy when I checked out. The rates are very high for what this is. Without the canal in the back, this apartment has absolutely nothing going for it. The mattress felt weird so I was going to sleep on the spare mattress, that was until I noticed it had urines staines on it.

Exceptional views of canal, short walk into the centre, well appointed rooms.

The views from the room are spectacular, looks straight over the canal, ducks and swans swimming by. Comfortable chairs and very cosy. Slept very well in a comfortable bed.

As you step into the front door of the building the lobby could do with a clean. Not that easy to park as very bust road.

The flat is in a nice location next to the canal with a cute pub nearby and a short walk to the train station. The washing machine was a super handy facility to have and the kitchen is decently equipped. There is street parking out the front if you have a vehicle. There is no air conditioning and a very small desk fan in the bedroom only. Just something to be aware of if you stay during a heatwave.

The flat could do with some little touches like providing more amenities for the bathroom and small milk for the kitchen etc. to increase the value for money.
