More shine than it is
Beautiful house.
Communication before and during the stay was poor. Important information, such as collecting the key 30 minutes away from the property, was only shared two days before arrival. There was no welcome information with the WiFi password, house instructions, or how to use the hot tub. We also received no check-out instructions and had no idea where to leave the key. The washing machine was advertised on Booking.com but was not available. We were told it had broken and had been removed. There was also no hot water when we arrived, and we had to contact the host to resolve the issue. The listing does not accurately show that the lake can only be reached by around 100 very steep steps, which is important information for families with small children, elderly guests, or anyone with limited mobility. The access road is also very narrow and in poor condition. The hot tub required lighting a wood fire, but there were no instructions. The water appeared dirty (we were later told this was due to rain). The boats are included, but they are stored in the cellar, and it is difficult to understand how guests are expected to carry them down the long, steep staircase to the lake. The property also needs some maintenance. The shower heads are heavily affected by limescale, resulting in very low water pressure. The hot and cold water indicators at the kitchen sink are reversed, and several small details throughout the house could use attention.
