  Vile accommodation- An awful start to our holiday.

  The property we arrived at was not the polished one detailed in the advert. I shared were real life images taken on 30th September between 3:00 PM and 3:45 PM, which clearly show the poor state of the accommodation as we found it. Just the hour I spent in the damp and mouldy environment caused me to become wheezy, as an asthmatic, there was no way I could have remained at the property. We identified the following unacceptable conditions during the hour we spent there (see below): Dirty and unhygienic areas throughout the property. Visible mould on walls and inside the wardrobe. Stained furniture including the sofa. Broken items and fixtures tiles etc. Potential trip hazards. Damaged, dangerous electrical sockets. Insufficient bedding with only a small throw available as a blanket. Numerous mosquitoes. A large can of insect spray inside the property which became particularly concerning given the number of mosquitoes present. I was notified by the lead booker that she received an unsympathetic response following her lengthy calls to your customer services AI agent (Isabella) offering one hundred Euros as a gesture of goodwill. This is an insult to say the least. Please explain how this is a suitable reimbursement to five women who then had to pay extortionate amounts for suitable on-the-day booking in a foreign country? For nearly four hours we sat outside in a foreign country displaced with nowhere to go whilst trying desperately on our phone to secure accomodation. This was not the start to a trip we envisaged. As someone who regularly uses Booking.com, I was horrified and most disappointed by the poor uninhabitable condition/quality of the accommodation and how your staff subsequently treated us. Booking.com have taken no responsibility for advertising this appalling property on their website. We have also only had AI communication from them.

  Amazing location

  We got great arrival instructions from the host. It made arrival very easy and stress free. The host was easliy contactable and cares. We were very grateful that check in/out times were able to be adapted to suit us. The location is fabulous. 10 minute walk to PuroBeach and Aqua Qlub. Less than 10 minutes to the Marina. There is a Spar a few minutes walk away, where we could get water, snacks, milk, wine and bread (even gluten free bread for our ceoliac friend). It is on a beautifully maintaned site, that felt safe as it has a coded entrance. It was quiet on a night - no noise from other villas or passers by. Great sized mugs - we could have a proper cuppa to start the day. I took our own tea bags, but there was tea and coffee provided. When we had a chilled night in, we were pleased that we could log in to our own Amazon Prime TV. When we were pottering around we had Sky News on a music channel on. The aircon in the 3 bedroms upstairs and the powerful ceiling fan in the lounge helped keep the villa cool. We never left them on when we went out, but they soon cooled it down on our return. I was delighted to find a tumble dryer - I'd been travelling before this villa stay, so I could get my washing done dry it off in the sun, and give it a blast in the tumble dryer to finish off. The plug sockets had usb and English plug points, so we didn't need adapters.

  The bath needs a little TLC. Didn't bother us though because we used the two showers which were clean.

  Superb villa, great location, lovely marina

  The apartment was big and spacious, lovely condition and spotless. They provided most essentials including beach towels, coffee pods etc.. we were met by the lovely Horacio who showed us how things work at the apartment, he even organised private transfer back to the airport for us. Superb location for shops and restaurants, plus a 5 min walk to the lovely Marina. There is a local bus stop very near by. We mainly used Ubers to visit other parts of Portugal, our favourite being Toule.
