We loved Playa Blanca but won’t be returning to this villa.
The villa is quite spacious and bright, and the veranda was a nice place for outdoor eating and socialising. We very much enjoyed the pool until the heating failed. We also valued the British TV, and enjoyed the pool table and the table soccer. Jayne and the other staff were very responsive indeed. The views of Playa Blanca are good from the rear of the villa.
The property is tired. It requires complete refurbishment to bring it up to a standard commensurate with its cost. The poolside furniture is old and marked and should be replaced. The cabana had tables stacked next to it, which should be removed. In addition we were given limited supplies of refuse bags (1), dishwasher tablets and other necessary items. The dustpan and brush were not usable, nor were the corkscrew and the cafetière. We could not face using the barbecue because of its dirty condition. The Wi-Fi reception in the upstairs bedrooms was intermittent at best. The location is a real weakness. The villa faces a noisy apartment complex, what appeared to be the cleaners’ base/laundry, and a vehicle parking/turning circle, which generated noise outside the front bedroom from early in the morning. It is also closely situated to the local refuse bins. It was not unusual to actually smell the bins while sitting on the veranda or around the pool.
