Everywhere was lovely. I would have been more than happy to live in the huge kitchen.
Stayed for 1 week, June 1st 2024 for a family wedding in Borgo A Mozzano. (Villa Catureglio, 28 - 30 minutes away by car) We were met at the door and Marco showed us around the property and answered any questions we had and more. He was very helpful and the owners were super responsive. Everything was very professional. there is an automatic gate to the property and 2 sets of key fobs to get in and out. It felt very secure, safe and private. FYI: Electricity for air conditioning etc is extra. Approx 50 Euro's for a whole week for 10 people. I thought pretty reasonable. The kitchen, is my dream kitchen. Full size fridge freezer plus beer fridge. Kitchen table seats 14, easily. Laundry room in the basement. Full gas stove and hob. So many utensils (except can opener) and cutlery. Plenty of crockery with the exception of bowls. There was only one. This is my only fault, can't complain. There were lots of condiments, oil, salt, pepper, herbs, spices, sugar, salt, tea bags and coffee to get you started if you were staying a while. Lucca, 10 - 15 minutes away by car is fantastic, must go if you're so close. Walk into the centre, not just the outskirts. Make sure you park properly, you will get a ticket :) Head for tourist info, easier parking there. Pisa, worth a trip, about 35 - 40 mins sooo busy but worth it. Florence, driving is scary. Took about 2 hours but should have been less. Very congested. If you have someone in your party who doesn't enjoy roller coasters, let them stay by the pool :) It's a Vespa frenzy :)

Wonderful except debating about electricity
A lovely villa in the hills above Lucca. Great pool. The villa was clean. Good amenities.
Be aware the property will charge for electricity and also the electricity taxes which are 60% of the actual electricity cost (high??). Electricity cost was 190 Euro for 5 nights. Our confirmation from Booking.com did not make mention of extra energy charges. One of the air con units could not be switched off - so we paid for electricity usage on an item we could not turn off (we notified the Property Manager of this on day 2 - no response). When I made enquiry on this and the high energy taxes, the Property Manager could not answer these queries. I emailed them at holiday's end about this - no response. A disappointing end to the stay at the Villa.
