  Tuscany at its finest

  When you see in movies how warmly and kindly the host of a Tuscan villa welcomes their guests, you might think, “That’s exaggerated — surely places like that don’t really exist.” Well, at Villa Gobbi, you realise that they do. :) After reading the previous reviews and seeing the photos of the villa, our expectations were already very high, but Dunja managed to exceed them. My rating would actually be 10/20— or even higher, if Booking.com allowed it. Dunja was waiting for us at the entrance, our luggage was taken upstairs, and we were immediately welcomed by the pool with a glass of Prosecco and some grapes. Breakfast was served in the garden at our dedicated table overlooking the sea. In the evenings, we could relax by the beautifully lit pool entirely on our own. Since the villa has only a few rooms, there are never more than around 10–12 guests, which makes the atmosphere wonderfully peaceful and intimate. Dunja was incredibly attentive and took care of our every need. It is also worth mentioning that gluten-free breakfasts are available — and Dunja personally made sure everything was arranged properly. They serve their own fresh vegetabels from their garden which is also a unique experience. I have travelled extensively throughout Italy over the past 30 years, and I have had many wonderful experiences, but none of them comes close to what Villa Gobbi has to offer. If you are travelling by car, you simply could not choose a better place to stay. Our room was also larger than it appeared in the photos — something I have never experienced before. It also had an entrance hall, and in addition to the bathroom with a bathtub, there was also a separate shower. Dunja, we will definitely be back :)

  Faszinierendes historisches Haus mit wundervollem Team in toller Lage! Sehr persönlich, wenig Gäste, schöner Pool, Sehr empfehlenswert! Fascinating historic house with a wonderful team in a great location! Very personal atmosphere, few guests, lovely pool—highly recommended!
