    Spacious, all the things you need in a kitchen to prepare it for yourself (even oil, salt, pepper), because there are no restaurants working after 4pm. Good location to start and end your journey around hakone. Heater also helped on a evenings. Overall good value for money. Bear in mind that there is no nearby shops, but we were completely ready for it and its not a places fault.

    One bed was too worn out (sunken), a mold smell in the entrance. Ground carpets are stained.

    The location is great, close to Hakone's main attractions. The apartment is spacious enough for 6–7 people, maybe even more, and the kitchen is well equipped with most of what you need. There's also a washing machine with detergent provided, plus a dryer (cold-air only, as in many places in Japan).

    Apartment A is split over two floors, and carrying heavy suitcases up the stairs to the second floor wasn't easy. The dining area (a low Japanese-style table with floor seating) is also on the second floor, so every meal means carrying food and dishes up the stairs from the kitchen. Finally, an illuminated emergency exit sign on the second floor faces the beds and lights up the room all night. If you're used to sleeping in complete darkness, bring an eye mask.
