Fabulous stylish boutique hotel in the centre of town

Excellent quality breakfast although at the price I would expect it to be included. Muriel on the front desk and Theo in the bar were excellent. great ambassadors for the hotel

Fitness room is very limited Recommend installation of a sauna and/or steam room as a lovely way to unwind

    EXCEPTIONAL

This villa deserves 10 stars ! from the moment we checked in to the moment we left we loved every moment. The rooms are well appointed and the beds are so comfortable. This is a boutique property that prides its self on service. The breakfast has everything you could ever want. There is free parking in the back of the hotel. They have a lovely garden to sit in and the town is steps away. We toured all the Normandy beaches and we saw lots of tours going from this location. We wanted to stay longer and will be back soon! Thank you for making our 25th wedding anniversary so special !

High-end hotel located in the heart of Bayeux with an excellent breakfast.

The hotel was impressive and the rooms expansive and well-equipped. The location was excellent for our trips to all of the D-Day beaches and museums, and a short walk netted us many places for dinner. The breakfast was fantastic including your typical European breakfast and other additional items such as Quiche Lorraine and a variety of fresh fruits.

However, we found the headboards were not attached to the bed and banged against the wall every time I, or my wife turned over. In addition, my wife found the bed too hard, but Villa Lara supplied additional bedding that made the bed tolerable for her. In addition, we were "shooed" away from the outdoor setting areas while enjoying a local favorite - Calvados - because we hadn't purchased it through the hotel. The initial reasoning was licensing, and had her explanation stopped there, we would not have questioned the interaction. However, she went on to say that if we became so inebriated that an ambulance was necessary (that has NEVER happened to me or my wife in our lifetimes), they needed to know EXACTLY what and how much we had imbibed, then went on to say that they would refuse serving us if we appeared too inebriated. This explanation defies reasoning as how would they react if they found us unconscious in the hallway? Would they refuse to call an ambulance because they don't know what, or how much, we had drunk? This was a totally unnecessary interaction to this degree, and could have been handled by simply stating it was a licensing issue (which I highly doubt as we did the same thing at other hotels we stayed at in France).
