Great base for a family holiday near the Cinque Terre
Large and very well equipped property. Beautiful swimming pool with wonderful views over La Spezia; loads of lovely outdoor seating/lounging areas, large and comfortable rooms. We didn't use the jacuzzi, steam room or outdoor kitchen in the few days we had. It's a great base to visit the Cinque Terre (we drove down the hill into town and took a train from La Spezia station which is then just a few minutes into each of the five towns). La Spezia also has a lovely downtown area, nice restaurants and boat hire.
Be cautious renting this property for elderly people, and it will be difficult with very young kids due to the steep and uneven stairs in the outside areas.

The villa was nice. Great outdoor area and lovely pool. However, it was located a bit far from the city, so having a car is definitely an advantage. This should have been clearly communicated in advance. The information from Team Villa Lux could also have been better. They went through the house, but the information could have been more detailed—how to use the washing machine, how to handle garbage(they told us; «just leave it there», for a week??), where the outdoor light switches were, etc. When we asked for help booking a taxi on the day of departure, we were told they couldn’t call on behaf of the guests using their private phone - but that we could call the owner of the villa. A completely hopeless response!! As a result, we had to walk to the nearest bus stop with all our luggage—took about 30 minutes in 34°C heat. This undoubtedly ruined the overall impression of our stay!
