Confortable house but the pool is too small
The host, Nikos, is very helpful and very responsive (10/10). The garden is truly magnificent, featuring fruit trees (apricot, pomegranate) (10/10). The house is comfortable but not very bright (9/10). The bedrooms have all good air conditioning (10/10). One bedroom has no window at all. One bedroom has only a small window
One bedroom has both a window and a patio door, but we couldn't open the shutters of the patio door as they were stuck in "night mode." Note: following a power outage in the village lasting nearly two hours, we lost air conditioning and had to contact the host, Nikos, for instructions on how to get it running again. The pool is too small for adults—though suitable for children—measuring only 7m long, 3.5m wide, and 1.45m deep. I banged my knee against the pool steps several times. But the major issue is the water purification system, which in my opinion isn't working properly; my wife and I both noticed the pool water had a strange smell. The water doesn't circulate enough and is too stagnant; one day I swam at the bottom of the pool, and that very evening I developed severe pain in my left ear. The next day I had to see a doctor urgently; the diagnosis was an ear infection requiring a 10-day course of antibiotics. This ruined my vacation. Pool: 2/10. Wi-Fi: 7/10 (unreliable, as we frequently lost the connection; the host, Nikos, had to come and reset the Wi-Fi). Kato Gouves: 5/10 (a village that isn't very interesting and lacks charm compared to other places we've stayed in Crete). For all these reasons, we will NOT be returning to this house.

Superb couldn’t have asked for a better host who obviously cares very much about making your stay perfect. Nikos visited
The villa was exceptional and has everything you could possibly want for your stay including wine and water already chilling in the fridge for arrival! It was spacious inside and very spacious outside with different seating/ outdoor areas to enjoy. Evening lighting also very pretty and well thought out. Good location near beach, bars and restaurants ( recommend Scorpio’s and the late night fresh stone baked pizzas at the excellent supermarket opposite the island restaurant on the seafront) but very quiet and private.
There are 4 proper sturdy and comfortable sunbeds and 2 bean bag beds. Would have preferred 5 ( in our case) sunbeds.
