Superb ophold med en fantastisk vært!
Der var virkelig hyggeligt. Et sted med sjæl. Ejeren Costa kom omkring dagligt og sørgede for, at alt var som det skulle være. Vi var 8 personer og der var masser af plads til os alle. Fed swimmingpool, god grill, herligt med bordtennis.

Enjoyed our stay
Really enjoyed our stay at Villa Satra. The owners made us very welcome and we really appreciated the welcome pack which included a huge bowl of local fruit, water, wine plus home made wine. Also other items which we were really grateful for. Enough to keep us going for a while. The taverna round the corner (just a stroll down the road) was great, they were really friendly and the food excellent, and so cheap compared back to home (UK). The most delicious Greek salads! Plus another taverna a few minutes further walk away was also very good. Lovely views. Also love all the extras at the tavernas the bread, melon, ouzo etc. but understand this is common at all Greek restaurants! Nevertheless was a nice treat! You definitely need a car as the villa is situated in a village and it is a about a 25 mins drive to the nearest beach. However the pool was very welcome to cool down in. The swimming pool was not huge but adequate. Plenty of sun beds surrounding it. Padded sun beds would have made it even better. The villa was kept clean and was very well stocked. The owners were very helpful when we need a lighter to start our bbq. Arrived with one shortly after raising the ‘alarm’ lol! Plus presented us with a gift of Cretan Olive oil on our departure. Outside of the villa recommend Baja beach club in Rethymnon if visiting the beach. Very reasonable charge for sun loungers either by the beach or pool, and the pool is heated which was great to just step in it and not feel the chill! We also visited caves about 20 min away although only takes about half hour to look round but still made a change! Local coffee shop did a good Freddo expresso! Love Freddo espressos when in Greece and missing them now at home!
As above some padding on the sun beds would have been good! Also understand it is harder to achieve in older villas, but not many plug sockets in each room, or even an outdoor socket in the pool area would have been good. As two families with many phones/iPads it was a struggle at times!
