Peaceful Oasis in Panajachel
I stayed in the stand-alone apartment for 3 nights and it was lovely - was like living in a tiny home. :) It was very cozy, nice amount of space, loved the kitchen amenties to prep my own food (or use the microwave to re-heat leftovers), comfy bed, and nice hot water in the shower. The property itself is also beautiful! Lovely garden spaces, a covered rooftop area to see the surrounding mountains, and a gate-secured property that added another level of safety (although I personally felt very safe the entire time in Panajachel in general). Property is also a quick walk away from a big grocery store, as well as a short walk from the heart of town + the lake itself.

Go with hotel and skip the suites
Very good location with a beautiful yard. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
The suite was dark and stuffy. The kitchen was rather outdated but adequately serviced its purpose. The mattress was too soft and the bathroom and sink had an army of small ants. (I changed rooms the next morning and the staff was good about the change).
