Beautiful location and views, but the property needs more care and attention to detail.

A beautiful property with an extraordinary view, but with room for improvement We had a lovely stay at this property in Castelsardo. The location is one of its biggest strengths: the view over Castelsardo and the sea is simply extraordinary, and the house is very well positioned for exploring northern Sardinia. It is close enough to Castelsardo by car, while also being conveniently located for the beaches and for trips towards Stintino, Costa Paradiso, Santa Teresa and Palau. Its position makes it a great base for exploring both the western and eastern sides of the coast. The house itself is spacious and comfortable enough for a family with two children, and the kitchen is well equipped with pretty much everything you need for a week’s stay. The terrace is also large and has tremendous potential, especially because of the beautiful surroundings and the view. Overall, the property itself is wonderful. The location, the space and, above all, the view are truly special. Our feeling, however, was that the house has not been maintained or presented at the level of its potential. It feels as though the owner has stopped investing in making an already beautiful property truly special.

Unfortunately, this is also where we felt the property falls somewhat short of its potential. The furniture is quite old and, in several cases, not really usable. The furniture in the master bedroom in particular looks rather tired and unattractive, and one of the beds was quite unstable. We actually had to adjust it ourselves during our stay. The bed linen could also use an upgrade. For a one-week rental, it would be very helpful to have at least one spare set of bed linen and perhaps an additional set of towels. We also had quite a few ants getting into the house, which is something that would be worth addressing. More than anything, the house lacks the small details that would make it feel warm, welcoming and cared for. This is especially noticeable on the terrace: it is a wonderful, large space with an amazing view, but it feels rather bare and underused. A few comfortable pieces of outdoor furniture, some lighting, plants or other simple decorative touches could completely transform it. Overall, the property itself is wonderful. The location, the space and, above all, the view are truly special. Our feeling, however, was that the house has not been maintained or presented at the level of its potential. It feels as though the owner has stopped investing in making an already beautiful property truly special. This is particularly noticeable considering that the house can cost around €2,000 per week in August. At that price level, we would expect the furniture, bedding, maintenance and overall atmosphere to be brought up to a higher standard. We still enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend the property for its location, space and spectacular views. With some relatively modest investment and attention to detail, however, this could easily become an ex
