    Avoid at all costs!

    If you want black mould, limescaled toilets, and a stale smell that doesn’t clear even with the door wide open, this is the place for you. Despite being called 'Vlycha beach apartments' and advertised as 'seafront', you'll need binoculars to see any sand. The host made no effort to greet us, chatting on the phone whilst we stood with our bags for 15 minutes before she told us the room was 'not ready' and 'to go to the beach'. On checking where we were the property is nowhere near Lindos- one hour walk away. After being sent to the beach for an hour and a half, we returned to find the room still wasn't ready, and we were offered a seat on the room's balcony while they finished. The balcony, meanwhile, was actively being waterlogged from a dirty water pipe while we regretted our decisions. When we finally got in, the room had black mould, heavy limescale in the toilet, cracks in the walls and mirrors, and an ever-present stale smell (see photos). We tried to address these issues with the host, who continuously said 'you saw the cleaner' and 'it was spotless ', and we decided to hand the keys back to her as she became hostile and we had no intention of staying in the room. We immediately decided to call Booking.com to cancel our stay and consider refunding due to unacceptable conditions. Despite our efforts over the last two weeks and sending Booking.com the photos, Booking.com has said there is 'nothing more they can do as hosts are 'unreachable' and offered 10 euros for our trouble. We have not been refunded, and they continue to deny the room was unclean despite the photographic evidence. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
