Phenomenal hosts, beautiful property and overall great place to stay on the outskirts
Absolutely amazing hosts and the hospitality is unforgettable! Accommodating every request and sharing when and where we could spot wildlife on the property. If you are into plants at all, your jaw will drop with how many species are planted on this property. Nature itself is a quintessential part of the experience there. We didn't want to leave for our next location. Out of the four places that we stayed while in Costa Rica, we came back to the states boasting about the experiences that we had while at Vocare. The traditional breakfast was so flavorful with homemade cheese and different hot sauces. Two of us don't eat meat so they made sure we we had other options. I wanted to bottle the fresh juice that they made daily from fruits on the property. The sound of the rain at night on the metal roof and waking up to the howler monkeys in the morning was an unexpected bonus. I cannot say enough good things about how wonderful our stay there was. We can't wait to go back! Ernesto and Leslie we miss you and hope to visit again in the future to feel truly cared for as your guests. Thank you for so many amazing memories that my family has captured in our hearts forever!
Wi-Fi is only in the shared area but you still have privacy there

Authentic Pura Vida
Vocare is the perfect location for visiting other areas in the Guanacaste region. Much nicer to stay at this quiet and beautiful location and take day trips (there is much to do and see within easy driving range), rather than pack up and move every day. The Host, Ernesto, could not have been more pleasant or helpful. He speaks fluent English, so there is no problem with communication. He is happy to help you plan where to go and what to see in the area. It is best to rent a 4x4 as some of the roads are not paved. Our cabin was large, clean and very comfortable. There was one room with a double bed and a bunk bed, and a separate room with a double bed. One of the best things about staying at Vocare is feeling like you are a guest, not merely a tourist staying at tourist lodgings. There are only two cabins, which are far apart enough to offer privacy. If I return to the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica, Vocare is the only place I would consider staying. It is far superior to the other places I stayed on my recent vacation in Costa Rica, and the least expensive, too. If you are looking for a place to stay with a lively restaurant/bar scene where you can mingle with lots of other tourists, Vocare is not for you. If you want to stay somewhere that is immersed in nature where you can explore the grounds, see wonderful birds/wildlife and simply relax and enjoy your surroundings, then Vocare is where you should stay. Truly, I cannot say enough to convey how wonderful it is to stay at Vocare and experience the true Costa Rica, not the tourist Costa Rica.
I can't think of anything that could be improved, except perhaps coffee that is not so strong with breakfast. It was much to strong for my American taste!

Wow! amazing location and hosts that are inspiring and so hospitable. Thank you!
Amazing host, passionate about his farm and wonderful projects, had a guided tour and loved every second of my stay. Highly recommend this as a unique insight into something very different and decent! So much wildlife.
