    Trying!

    Haphazard service at breakfast, some staff had little knowledge of how to make drinks and decant port. Rose wine was not chilled! The chicken starter was substandard with gristle. No BBC channels on the TV so missed the snooker final. The afternoon tea was very good and should not be missed. The handles on the drawers in the room kept falling off.

    Outstanding hotel, located in a peaceful and scenic part of Northern England. We only stayed one night, but this certainly ranks as one of the best hotels i have stayed in, not only in the UK but worldwide. Service was excellent.

    We stayed on 17th July for one night as a base to explore Hadrians Wall and Hexham. The hotel is lovely and spotlessly clean, the staff v friendly and COVID aware and the food was excellent too. Recommended.

    Luxury and relaxation in a lovely setting.

    Lovely setting, gorgeous spacious and comfortable room. Good spa facilities. The food was lovely and the staff were really caring and attentive. Our stay was curtailed by Covid 19 but the staff sent us on our way with a snack for the journey. Highly recommend.
