  Our worst vacation rental experience

  The house inside is beautiful and clean but can't say the same for the outdoor area. The pool and the pedal prowler were so dirty that we couldn't use it, and this was the main reason we chose this property.

  First of all, the bottom of the pool was green and dirty, as well as the pedal boat. For us, these were unsanitary conditions, and we did not feel comfortable using either one. I contacted Booking.com to see if we had an alternative to find another place since this was a short vacation, and they told me that the decision to cancel the reservation with a refund was on the owner's side only. I sent pictures and a video of the pool to the property manager, and he offered to clean the pool the next day, but even then, we wouldn't be able to get into the pool during our stay. He told me that he could offer a "full refund" but would keep all cleaning fees, taxes, and other fees, which was more than half the price of our reservation. We were at the property for about 3 hours just waiting for a solution, but we did not stay there, so the cleaning fee seems ridiculous. Booking.com sent emails and called the property several times, but he never answered. We left and notified the owner that we had left, even though our reservation remained active the whole weekend. We felt misled because he told us that I was the one who had to call Booking.com and cancel the reservation, but when I contacted Booking.com, I was told that if I canceled it myself, the regular nonrefundable policy would apply. Booking.com left all the power of decision on the owner's side, a person who did not answer their calls or emails. And yes, this property is nonrefundable, but as a contract, I am not the only side who should comply with the conditions. I booked and paid for a property that advertised a pool I could use, and that was not what I received. As a client, I feel that I was scammed, even though the property has many beautiful automated messages and the manager was reachable before our arrival. This is definitely the worst experience I have ever had renting a place. Be aware of this: once the money is on the property's side, you may have no protection as a customer.

  Very enjoyable stay, host was amazing and quick to respond and resolve any issue brought to his attention.

  Property was in a beautiful location with amazing amenities and activities which made for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Super comfortable master bedroom and living room/ kitchen area was inviting for a family to create memories.

  Patio furniture cushions need updated to allow guest to enjoy the beautiful deck and grill area.
