    Not fit for purpose

The accommodation is in a formerly grandiose setting, in a flat with tall ceilings, period features, and lovely wooden floor boards. However – property upkeep has been neglected and the state of the flat is unsatisfactory. Examples below...

Poor maintenance state: • broken doorbell hanging off wall • freely dangling electrical and data wire in multiple places • dirty windows with thick layers of grime on the sash frames, some of which are rotting • wash basin and shower cubicle in one bathroom did not drain properly • ceiling fan in the other bathroom was dysfunctional, aiding mold in the bath/shower area • a floor lamp that was electrically unsafe, with the lamp shade hanging off two live wires • a heating boiler (installed in one of the bedrooms, and crammed into a cupboard that is smaller than the boiler – so the doors won’t close) that cut out multiple times and needed to be bled by us twice within three days • semi-completed refurbishment works in several places • ‘stuff’ lying around (e.g. 4 or 5 remotes for one TV, letters addressed to former inhabitants, dusty panels 'stored' behind the headboard of one bed…) • etc. We contacted the host about several of these matters – and were promised correction. Yet that did not materialise. The only exception was that — after us pointing out that the need to bleed a boiler repeatedly may indicate a leak — a plumber was sent, twice during our stay, to repair it. Clearly the interests of the owner outweigh the interests of guests, as said plumber was not instructed to unblock the drains in the main bathroom... In my view, this accommodation is not fit for purpose, certainly at the rate charged (GBP400+ per night). Other aspects, such as location (on a very busy road) or the surprisingly small ‘double beds’ (given the grand rooms, one would have expected 6” / 1.8 m, rather than 4-5” / 1.2-1.4 m wide ones) are a different matter. But the state of repair and of customer care are inadequate.

    Poor, choose elsewhere

Location was ok. Quite a lot of noise.

Property is run down and dirty. Host name Suzy appears to have a few properties available and based on my experience and that of colleagues also staying in Glasgow avoid is my advice. Poor

A very spacious, comfortable apartment in a fantastic part of Glasgow

Very spacious for six of us - wonderful living room for us to hang out in.

In very good condition but is looking a little bit tired in places, for example kickboards not in place under kitchen units. Also initially no hot water as gas pressure too low in boiler. Instructions were given as to how to fix this but ideally should be checked before each booking.

    Great value and excellent location

Location was excellent. Large rooms, well equipped kitchen. The host provided a guest book with lovely recommendations. Basic cooking and cleaning supplies were provided and made our first few nights much more pleasant.

The heat was turned off when we arrived and it took while for the apartment to warm up. Additionally, we had no success opening the back door from the parking space so we had to walk around the block.
