    Don't hesitate. BOOK NOW!!!

Mere words cannot describe the relief it was staying here. The atmosphere created here is epic. The vibe automatically present. To be appreciated as a guest is an understatement. You're respected as such like an old friend. Every single staff member encountered obviously is treated well as an employee as it showed in their demeanor. Everyone here is part of a team that cares about where they work and takes pride in the job they do because it shows ! The initial greeting & check in was so welcoming. The food is delicious, the rooms are thoughtfully furnished for comfortable usefulness and the grounds are tastefully maintained. Cornhole anyone? It's in the courtyard. Bath bomb for your jacuzzi tub? They got 'em. Board games, card games and a litany of movies, even kites for the kids or kid in you! Forgot your robe or a warm sweater! They got you! Even a fishing pole is available if you care to try your luck off the pier. ADA accessible room, EV charging, yes!! The freezer in your in room mini fridge actually keeps your ice frozen & wont freeze your items in the fridge! Leave your windows open to hear the ocean waves all night. Don't worry about being cold in your room either. The fireplace will take care of that! The fireplace even has different light/ambiance settings and a timer! Family friendly, fur baby friendly, romantic, secluded and you will not want to leave your private patio! Why? THE VIEW!!! The ocean is RIGHT THERE! For a family with minors may I suggest a courtyard room & save the ocean views for the adults wanting romance & solitude. Better yet, bring the extended family & stay at the Historic Warfmaster house w/full kitchen/dining 3 bedrooms & 4 beds! The kiddos can walk right down to the ocean. The oceanfront there is all rocks so fyi on that. Sandy beachfront just a skip away. Everything is right there. Great food on site, beverages, beer, wine, champagne, prosecco. Restaurant/bar/deli/coffee shop a walk down the driveway at the ocean & fine dining available in Elk 30min down the road. I personally booked another stay there while I was there. Can't wait & looking forward to going back in April 2027 This stay was late July 2026. For first timers to the Mendocino coast I suggest to have layered attire! The sun can be warm but the wind can be cold. So take flip flops for the beach, shorts & long pants, light shirts and sweaters. Point Area is gorgeous. A quaint small historic town. Visit Elk, Mendocino & Ft. Bragg. Stay at least 4 nights minimum to soak it all in. You will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Why haven't you booked yet?! They even offer a payment plan at checkout on thier website when booking! No Expedia, trivago & the like needed! Just go to the website for the best pricing! Discounts for AAA,AARP,PG&E workers ,and of course MILITARY! Say high to Tilly for me. The resident turtle that eats in the garden/courtyard area! I would have posted pics but really there is no need, the rooms are just like they look on the website! Gorgeous!

    Beautiful grounds and views

What a wonderful place. The grounds are so well maintained with thoughtful and meticulous details. I chose this stay for the balcony ocean view and was not disappointed. Owner and staff are so friendly!! Very comfortable bed and the room had such wonderful decor and of course the fireplace. I would love to return and spend more luxurious time here. Highly recommended!

    Great Oceanfront Inn!

Absolutely loved our stay here. Our room had been recently renovated and was perfect. The fireplace heater was a great way to stay warm on cool coastal nights. And the view...love walking out on the balcony to listen to the surf crashing and watch the ocean. Even saw a whale breach in the distance. Staff were wonderful and eager to assist with anything. There are also a couple of restaurants as well as a coffee shop at the bottom of the hill that are good options so that you don't have to leave. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway along the coast.

Great little gem of a hotel on the Pacific Ocean

What a great place. The hotel sits on a little cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We had a nice time exploring the rugged rocky beach and sitting in the little park just watching the waves come in as the sun went down. They have food onsite and there are other choices at the same little cove within walking distance. We rode the motorcycle there and I recommend parking at the lower lot where it is more level. The rooms are spacious enough and several places to gather and sit around right outside if you want fresh air. I would definitely stay there again.

    Above and Beyond

The Wharf Master's Inn is nestled in the cliffside adjacent to Point Arena cove. Our suite's private entry way and balcony provided us an unobstructed panoramic view of the cove and wharf below. The Inn was the perfect place for us to escape the bustle and the intense summer temperatures from the valley. The suite was spacious, well-maintained, peaceful, and comfortable. Cliff, the owner of the Inn, was very personable and accommodating. He went above and beyond to provide service and support for me and my 91-year-old father. Highly Recommend The Wharf Master's Inn for your next vacation.
