    AWFUL AGENTS, lovely apartment!

    Lovely apartment, disappointing management — 1 star Whispering Palms has plenty to recommend it: a location across the road from the beach and a lovely walking path, three good-sized double bedrooms, two bathrooms and an equipped kitchen. The apartment was clean, although the roads at the front and side were busy. The apartment offer the facilities that make a holiday pleasant.

    Unfortunately, our experience with the managing agents, Premium Realty in Bongaree, overshadowed those positives. We arrived on 6 September 2026, a day later than planned, having advised them by email. We brought meat for a barbecue but found the gas bottle empty or not working. The washing machine leaked, a curtain was missing from the main bedroom overlooking the road, and the sofa’s faux leather was peeling. We reported these issues immediately. A replacement gas bottle arrived the following day. My husband connected it, but we never used the barbecue. Despite this, we were subsequently told we would be charged $55 plus additional charges for a dirty barbecue. When I disputed this, explaining that four witnesses could confirm it had not been used, I felt shouted down and was told there was photographic evidence. The photographs eventually supplied through the booking platform showed a timeline date of 3 September—three days before our arrival. I do not understand how those images could substantiate a cleaning charge against us. Resolving this has taken weeks and considerable effort. In my experience, the communication from principal Gayle Cox was rude and unprofessional. The apartment itself was appealing, but the management experience is the reason for my one-star rating.

    Beautiful location for a relaxing weekend.

    Great location with easy access to the passage for a walk. Very tidy and well stocked with cooking equipment.

    The oven needs replacing.
