We did really like the vibe and the location and the staff!
Was beautiful and friendly
That we couldn’t always use the pool due to closures for public events

Couldn’t wait to leave.
Not much
Dirty-rooms grubby, carpets dirty, everything looked and was old and worn. Extremely well edited photos on hotel website bore little resemblance to actual place and were misleading. Noisy

Another stay, another five-star review, and once again, Shaun Paul understood the assignment. The hospitality? Immaculate. The customer service? Unmatched. The patience required to deal with the general public? Whatever they’re paying him, it isn’t enough. The hotel itself is fantastic, but Shaun Paul is the kind of employee who makes you want to come back. Professional, hilarious, and genuinely one of a kind. Management, I’m once again publicly requesting you give this man a raise. At this point, I’m running out of ways to tell you he’s a national treasure.

Once upon a time it was a favourite.
The draw of this property is of course the beautiful courtyard with pool, loungers and the HeyDey bar and restaurant. I like that the rooms are styled after an era and the front desk staff is always lovely and top tier.
Oh boy it felt like a lot has gone downhill since my last stay here. The room was not well cleaned, the furnishings, fixtures and walls showing significant wear and tear. Stains on our sheets and hair in the shower when we arrived, as well as crumbs and hair on the ground. Dried bodily fluids on the wooden headboard were the worst part unfortunately. The walls are so thin you can hear everything in the hallway and surrounding rooms which meant some pretty terrible sleeps. My husband commented it wasn’t a huge deal on day 1 since we would be poolside all day and night. Except we couldn’t be because they booked out the full pool and bar area for a wedding and didn’t tell any of the other guests. In fact it was clear to appease the guests they had a script about what was open and closed as I heard multiple guests complain and multiple front desk staff say that the pool would remain open all day and night - just not the bar. This wasn’t true. From 3:45 pm until 10:30 pm the entire courtyard was taken over by a wedding, DJ, a saxophone player, strobe lights and as many whooo girls as you could imagine. Zero apologies. The manager said it was up to us to determine “when and if it seemed appropriate to go swimming” while gesturing vaguely at the wedding party surrounding it. We ended up cancelling our plans for the next day on the north shore in order to be able to use the pool that area that was the whole purpose of our booking this hotel. First day there was no iced tea, no orange water, no popcorn either. Amenities that you pay for through your amenity fee. All things considered we paid to have a bad sleep in a dirty room, and extremely poor communication from their management team. Not great.
