The house was clean and visually pretty. The bed were comfortable. The folder with activities and useful information was appreciated. We loved staying here.

Comfy beds, well equipped, great location and the best company.
Very central to everything we wanted to do and woods all around, lovely
The lighting! We are very keen table lamp people, gives warm and cosy ambience. You could do with a fridge freezer of size, with the number of people your lovely home can accommodate. Just a thought

Brilliant home from home with everything we needed and more
The entire property was lovely and it really felt like a home from home. The kids loved the bunk beds and all of the rooms were very cosy while still being spacious. Location was great for exploring the forest and there were some lovely local pubs within 15-20 minutes drive away as well as a supermarket. Great selection of games too, suitable for all ages!
We would’ve liked to use the fire pit and/or have a BBQ but couldn’t for obvious reasons at the moment due to risk of wild fire - but these things happen so nothing anyone could do.

For those who like woods and walking (or cycling) and wildlife, this is a great place to stay.
Splendid location - many walks from the door in lovely, shaded woods (important with the outside temperature hitting 30C!). We didn't need to drive more than 5 miles from the location on any day, and several days not at all. Houses of that period do not have large windows letting in too much sun, so it was easy to keep cool inside - very necessary during heatwaves! Equally, I can imagine it is cosy in the winter, with wood-burning stove. We went for a sight of wild boar and were not disappointed. Though they are incredibly secretive, nocturnal animals we did manage a good sight of a sow and piglets and a lone male over the week, in the late evening and early morning, within a few hundred yards of the property.
Wrong to say that we didn't like it, because we knew, of course, that the cottage only has one bathroom (shower). For a dwelling that sleeps 6 we usually like to book somewhere with an additional en suite. But that is reflected in the very reasonable rental price and, something I did not pick up from the information, there was a second toilet in the garden bike shed. For people of a certain age (shall we say!), that is a definite bonus.
