  Not a pleasant experience

  It had a washing machine.

  I booked this apartment for a business trip specifically because it advertised a parking spot, which was essential for me as I needed to come and go multiple times a day. Upon arrival, we were met by Inocencio, who showed us the garage. The garage is extremely tight, and because I drove a medium-sized car, parking was extremely difficult. Passengers and all baggage must be removed before even attempting to park, and it requires a precise technique. It took several attempts to get the car into the stall, which was very frustrating. Street parking is nonexistent, and the few visitor spots are mostly taken by abandoned cars. I had to stay for a week and even considered requesting an earlier checkout because the only other option was to park at a golf course down the street—a long and impractical walk for my 82-year-old mother, who is not very mobile. Management’s only solutions were for Inocencio to come back and teach me how to park, or to offer a refund if someone else booked the apartment, which was unrealistic. The apartment itself was extremely disappointing. Only the one bedroom had been cleaned, as they assumed the second bedroom wouldn’t be used. One shower was extremely dirty with long black hairs (and we are blondes), while the other shower had no hot water. They left old, used soap bars and leftover shampoo from previous guests for us to use in the bathrooms, which is unacceptable. Coffee pods were provided but incompatible with the coffee maker. Kitchen sponges were old and grimy, ceiling fans did not work, and most lamps had no light bulbs. The complex is massive, with hundreds of permanent residents, and does not feel like a vacation rental at all. There was constant noise from barking dogs, cooking smells drifting from neighbors, and loud people yelling. Overall, the environment was chaotic and unpleasant. The manager was not on-site (presumably in Madrid) and offered only condescending platitudes rather than any practical assistance.

  I had the most incredible stay at this apartment in Marbella. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations. The apartment itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and perfectly located — the kind of place that instantly feels like home. What truly made this stay unforgettable were the hosts. They went above and beyond in every way imaginable, always friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. A perfect example: they even took the time to personally drive me to the shops when I needed something — such a thoughtful gesture that speaks volumes about their hospitality.
