Superb
My experience has been that apartments which were previously lived in by the family which now rents them out are better than those which were built just for future guests. And this one really proves that point! This apartment has EVERYTHING that you might need. (Except a microwave.) Also: windows on three sides so great cross-ventilation. Spacious bedrooms, but the common living area is a bit small. I didn't even realize it was a two bedroom apartment when I booked. So I only used the master bedroom with the king size bed (which was very comfortable). But that's the one with the balcony facing the street. And that street is busy around the clock. So especially at night you hear the traffic, the sirens, the honking horns, etc. But it turned out that two of the twin bed mattresses fit PERFECTLY into the space, so quiet and very dark, letting me sleep in. Great new air conditioner in the living room; older but good unit in the bedroom. No Smart TV (and a bit small), but very good cable channels. I especially enjoyed the movies shown on the Cinestar channels. I was allowed to check in early, which was a big help. Nice authentic Tirana neighborhood with everything you might need close by. Not touristy at all. The family is very nice and helpful. Oh, good WiFi.
I did wish that the bathroom water heater was turned up a bit. You have to watch how strong the water flow is and how hot you like it or you might run out of hot water. Also, it's a bit old fashioned: you are right next to the toilet, so be sure and remove the toilet paper before showering! (But again: everything is provided!) Not a complaint but be aware that it's on the fourth floor and no elevator. And the neighborhood had three power outages during my four week stay. One of them lasted for a few hours. When you lose power you also lose running water. Again: authentic!
