We have visited Lewis many times over the years, and Benside Cottage is by far the best that we have experienced overall. The location is great, being a short drive from town and, of course, the ferry. We arrived on the evening ferry, and from being on the quayside, were in the Benside kitchen with the kettle on within 15 minutes. We did, however, know approximately where we were going, so perhaps this made it even easier? It was even better on our departure for the 7am ferry! The fact that the cottage has a semi rural location (lovely garden and view) was fantastic. I think everything is covered in other reviews, but I can only echo that Benside is a real home from home. Well equipped kitchen, cosy and very comfortable throughout, piping hot water and a lovely welcome pack of fruit, bread, wine, and milk. Super value for money. Communication with Angus was spot on. He lives next door, and we bumped into him just the once. A lovely gent. Would recommend.

Located 10 minutes from ferry by car. Easy to reach. Brilliant location.
Location was great. Well stocked kitchen Warm homely coal fire. Welcomed us with bread milk and bottle of wine. Super kind

Comfortable and spacious, and a really good location.
The cottage was clean, comfortable and spacious and was a short drive to Stornoway. We were able to bring our pet dog and we were welcomed on arrival by our host.
The shower screen in the bathroom had a gap between it and the bath so when the shower was on, water was able to escape on to the floor. Otherwise I have no complaint whatsoever about this lovely cottage.

Good location just outside of Stornoway. Good sized cottage with all the facilities you require. The items of food and drink provided where much appreciated. Great communications as well.
Nothing significant which I could point to.
