  Our stay was good, with a well-located Blu serving as a quiet refuge from overwhelming crowds.

  The location of Blu was excellent, literally within a half kilometre or less from the Duomo and the other important cultural and historic sites of Florence. We couldn't have picked a better location. The hostess was friendly and informative and responded quickly to queries and with appreciation to gentle suggestions (not complaints) from us. The view out the rear windows of the apartment quaint and charming, adding to the pleasure of our stay.

  Probably the most challenging feature of our stay was the bed mattress. We appreciate, as Airbnb hosts ourselves in Canada for six years, that mattresses can be a contentious issue, with people's likes and dislikes running the full gamut. This mattress, however, had absolutely no give whatsoever, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. In fact, I ended up sleeping on the pull-out sofa (without pulling it out) to get through our nights there. I would imagine judging by the number of restaurants (and their patrons) that most guests who stay in Florence, do little if any food preparation, such as making coffee or tea for themselves. At the same time, it would have been nice to have had a small kettle for boiling water for coffee or tea. Italians also take great pride in producing some of the finest wines in the world, something that drew us to this fablulous country. So it would have been nice when we brought a bottle of wine back to Blu to be able to serve it in wine glasses rather than water goblets.(We did have one wine glass.) The last point is a very minor one but as veteran hosts ourselves we are conscious about the "tone" set for a stay. While Blu's host was kind and attentive, a sign next to the front entrance, stated to guest that the establishment "is not a hotel" and that guests are expected to provide supply their own needs, (presumably, including any sugar, salt and other condiments.) Again, it is a minor point and certainly one that does not detract from our general satisfaction with Blu. However, for the cost of a salt and pepper shaker or a few cubes of sugar, it was an off-putting and seemingly unnecessary posted sign.

  Quiet apartment in a most delightful location, with all useful amenities and very responsive host.

  The apt. was exactly as described: quiet, with a beautiful garden view, in a superb location for walking to well-known sites in Florence, and with a wonderful and responsive host, Miki.

  For those who use stairs, the stairway to the apartment is very dark even in mid-day with no obvious light switch! Thankfully the lift for the building works very well-- skip the stairs.

  Perfect location, spacious apartment

  Perfect location, perfect host, and spacious apartment. Miki was amazing, helped with check in, areas of interest and restaurants..even booked out taxi to the trian station as we had many suitcases. It's a short walk (14 minutes) from the train station but we had lots of bags. The apartment is great value for money and literally meters from the Duomo. Check-in was also easy. There were 4 of us, and we each had a gown and plenty towels. Very attentive.

  The shower is very small but everything else made up for it, honestly.
