Wonderful stay
The staff are so friendly and helpful, they really go above and beyond to improve your stay. For example we had a very minor issue with the shower not working but it was fixed within 10 mins and we were given a complimentary cocktail that evening (I was more impressed that the manager passed that instruction onto the bar and the bar tender made a point to remind us to have it). Beautiful grounds. Wifi very good. We booked a private tour through the hotel and while a higher price point it was worth the money, the guide was fantastic, managing to show us all the sites despite bad weather. Plus the tour includes snacks and drinks and a set menu lunch which we were able to have as dinner instead. Pool was also open in low season which often isn't the case in most places. Would love to get the chance to visit again in high season and experience the new rooms that are being built.
It's a long walk from the town if you do it both ways. We couldn't get cash out one day so had to walk back rather than get a cab when it started raining. That's not a fault of the hotel though just something to bear in mind if you aren't walkers.
