    Excellent location, Excellent staff, Excellent rooms and bed, Excellent breakfast

    The location is 5 minutes walk from the train station, and the cafes and food options that are across the street from the hotel are excellent. There is also a laundry mat 1 block from the hotel that made washing laundry a breeze. The beds were super comfy and the balcony off my room was very nice. Alessia (not sure on the spelling) was so nice and friendly, she greeted me with a smile every time, and I found all of the staff to be very friendly. The breakfast is great. The location is walking distance to Academia (David statue) and Uffizi (Caravaggio and others) Museums and easy to explore the city. I would stay here again.

    Price. I paid around 500 eu per night. But breakfast still ekstra. Rooms are looking to Houses.

    Disappointing stay

    The hotel is located very close to the SMN station, you can walk it up within 3-5 mins. It is also very close to the Duomo and the shopping street, which was very convenient for us. The superior rooms are large enough for two people, it also had a tiny balcony but no view of the street or the city.

    The shower pressure was too low for us, we even complained about it to the receptionist. At the time of checking in, I also mentioned to them that we’re celebrating my parents’ birthdays and I requested for an upgrade on our rooms. Unfortunately, they were unable to do that but told us they would provide us with the privilege room amenities. However, we didn’t get any special amenities in the rooms. Most of the hotels at least leave a cake & a greeting card in the rooms generally when we celebrate our special day with them. It was so disappointing that a chain hotel like Mercure didn’t go out of the way for us. The breakfast team, however, brought in a cake for my mum’s birthday and a special omelet for my dad’s birthday - but that was all. Also, there were no toothbrushes, shower caps, sanitary bags or any other items in the bathroom. Maybe it’s because they’re more eco-friendly but these are the basic necessities. I feel the hotel charged me a bomb for the kind of service they offer. I don’t think it was worth the money.
