Pub brilliant but who was checking the hotel

The pub downstairs was brilliant, staff were efficient and friendly, food was first class and all in all the pub was a very nice experience 👍

What we didn’t like was that nobody lived on sight and so the hotel part of ( the upstairs of the pub) the visit let them down badly, our room we were unable to open one of the blinds due to a chain being missing, we were only issued one toilet roll and the room was dusty on the corridor leading to the rooms the carpet needed vacuuming, the two night stay cost it £260 pounds which was far more than the norm but as we were burying my mother I thought it would be a touch of class

    Easy book in. Lovely location.

No milk on arrival had to ask so we could use tea making facilities in room.

    Great staff…poor cleanliness and maintenance.

The Staff. Wonderfully helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Engaging and always there to assist. Breakfast. Great cooked options.

The hotel needs some basic maintenance. Our room was showing obvious signs of wear and tear that had not been addressed. A broken toilet lid, shower controls without a cover and frayed carpets to mention a few of many. Cleanliness was also an issue, dirty furniture and dust, particularly on the kettle lid and fan….would have sprayed the room if turned on!
