    Helpful staff

    The first power outage happened because too many electrical appliances were being used at the same time. It may be worth upgrading or redistributing the electrical system to better support the whole house. The second power outage was due to a town-wide blackout. I'm not sure if this happens regularly or if we were just unlucky. However, for accommodation that costs $1,100 per night, there should be a backup plan in place for situations like this. The house relies entirely on electricity, so during the outage we had no heating. Imagine staying in a house at -8°C for six hours without heat—it was a very uncomfortable experience. A backup power source or an alternative heating option would make a significant difference. We appreciated the staff deliver extra blankets after we requested them...but maybe a gas or diesel heater would be a good way to save on power bills and keep guest warm during a power cut.
