    A clean, safe, and centrally located stay that covered all my basic needs while enjoying a busy week

    I stayed at The Castle for a week while visiting SXM for Prison Workers Week 2026, and it was just what I needed for my stay. The accommodation was clean, centrally located, and felt safe, which gave me peace of mind as a solo traveler. It covered all the basic needs and made a good home base while I was out enjoying my time on the island. I would definitely recommend The Castle to solo travelers who have a busy itinerary and plan to spend most of their time exploring SXM. If you’re looking for a simple, convenient place to stay while discovering the island, this is certainly worth considering! Hot water was available, and you had the option to wash and dry your own clothes. .The interior looked exactly as shown on Booking.com. These were definitely some of the positive aspects of the stay.

    There was no extractor hood to help reduce cooking smells. For this reason, I chose not to cook, as I did not want my clothes or the room to smell of food. Please also keep in mind that there are stairs. If you are travelling alone with a suitcase and hand luggage, carrying everything upstairs can be quite challenging. The accommodation is also not wheelchair accessible. The exterior of the building and the stairwell look somewhat run-down and give a slightly neglected impression. However, once you reach the accommodation upstairs, it looks just as it does in the photos on Booking.com.

    Great location...right in the heart of town...the room was very neat, clean and comfortable...my husband and I will return to this place the next time we are in SXM.

    Only one mishap...we had no internet access on our last night there which was quite inconvenient.
