  Fantastic stay

  The house was gorgeous and very comfortable.Bedrooms were spacious and beds were so comfortable.. Would definitely return

  Would have preferred a kettle in the kitchen.

  Unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by a lack of communication and a number of issues with the property. The house

  The house itself is nice and has a lot of potential. The bathrooms are particularly good and very modern.

  Communication and check-in Communication with the owner was extremely difficult and caused a lot of unnecessary stress before the stay. I messaged the owner four times and called twice regarding adding an extra guest to the booking, but received no response. I was therefore understandably apprehensive about sending £500 by bank transfer and asked if I could instead pre-authorise the payment on my credit card. Again, it was extremely difficult to get a response and I had to contact Booking.com via phone and chat a number of times which also didn’t really help! Nothing was confirmed in writing. It was very frustrating and worrying when you’re trying to plan a night away for 12 guests. On the day of arrival, we were unable to get into the property. We arrived shortly after the 3pm check-in time and were standing outside the house in the rain, with no check-in information and nobody there. I called the owner, but he didn’t answer. I then had to contact Booking.com, who managed to get hold of him. We were told he would be there in 15 minutes, but it was closer to 40 minutes. He did give us the key code to get into the property luckily. The address was also confusing. The booking stated number 2, but number 2 appears to be the neighbouring property, which even resulted in our takeaway driver going to the wrong door. Cleanliness and preparation There were several issues with the cleanliness and preparation of the property: * Stained blankets and cushions on the beds. * Hair on the bedding. * The property needed hoovering. * The bedding for the sofa bed had not been prepared. * There was not sufficient bedding, including no suitable bottom sheet. * The hot tub was not ready when we arrived, but we’d already decided not to use it anyway. * The garden was untidy and needed mowing. * No hand towel, hand wash or sufficient toilet roll in the downstairs toilet.

  Weekend stay

  The house was lovely, spacious and was perfect for what we used it for. I rang up after my visit to check everything was good and my deposit was transferred straight over whilst on the phone. I was shocked at the high value of deposit as I didn't read the small print when booking.

  Communication through booking wasn't great however, I rang the owner who was more than helpful and called me back if he missed my call.

  Con man! Avoid!

  Charged us £388 for fake tan on 1 bed sheet. Created a fake invoice from a fake cleaning company that doesn't exist. There's numerous reviews online from other guests he's done this to. Absolute con man with a smarmy attitude. Do not stay here.
