The site itself is beautiful and historic, but having Chandana there to welcome me every morning and discuss Sri Lanka really made my stay. Trevor the cat was an added bonus! I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.

Short stay in Galle
We were looking for a one night stay in Galle, in order to properly see the fort and shorten our drive to the southern coast. We chose the Fortaleza as it's in the city center and it's the main hotel of this local chain, therefore people from other accomodations all come here for breakfast. We stayed in the master bedroom on the second floor and we really liked it, room was big and extremely spacious with both AC and fan. There are two rooms on the ground floor and two on the first floor, I would recommend the first floor as the street is really close to the windows otherwise. Hotel is recommended for a short stay as it lacks of few amenities like pool, spa etc that other structures offer in town. Nice breakfast.
