  A very disappointing stay in an unclean and poorly maintained property, with inadequate facilities, serious maintenance

  Very little. The property is a studio and has the basic layout expected of a studio, but unfortunately the condition, cleanliness and facilities made the stay extremely disappointing.

  Almost everything related to cleanliness, maintenance and basic facilities. The property was very dirty on arrival, with dust everywhere, garbage and objects left behind the couches, and electrical wires scattered around. I reported the cleanliness problem and was told that someone would come to clean, but nobody came. The bathroom smelled bad, and the shower was in extremely poor condition. The showerhead was heavily rusty and the water pressure was so weak that taking a normal shower was almost impossible. Washing and rinsing my hair took an unreasonable amount of time, and I eventually had to kneel down and use the regular water tap to rinse my hair. The kitchen equipment was also unacceptable. The spoons, forks, knives, coffee pot and pans were rusty and badly deteriorated. I reported this to the owner, and his response was that I could throw them away if I wanted. This is not an acceptable solution in a fully furnished studio. A guest should not have to buy basic kitchen utensils and cookware simply to be able to use the property. The apartment was also extremely noisy because the window faces directly onto the street and provides very poor sound insulation. There was also an electricity outage lasting approximately four hours, without any prior notification or proper explanation from the owner. I reported these issues to Booking.com from the beginning and provided photographic evidence. I was told I would receive a response within 24 hours, but more than 72 hours passed without an effective resolution. I eventually had to leave the property and book another hotel for three nights, incurring significant additional costs. I have photographs documenting the condition of the property and can provide them to Booking.com.

  Appalling Stay: Avoid at All Costs

  I booked Mike Studio Verdun expecting the apartment shown online. What I got instead was a completely different unit that felt more like a neglected slum than a rental property. The place was filthy: rusty shower fixtures, grimy mirrors, and a liquid stain on the floor in front of the toilet that looked suspiciously like urine. I couldn’t even bring myself to shower without keeping my slippers on. There were no proper bedsheets: only a thin mattress cover, two uncomfortable pillows with cases, and heavy wool duvets that looked neither clean nor usable, especially in the suffocating heat of mid‑July in Beirut. The AC situation was equally unacceptable. Only one unit could be turned on at a time, initially capped at 24°C. I had to insist just to bring it down to 21°C. They also failed to mention that the building’s generator shuts off for several hours a day, meaning the elevator becomes unusable, a critical detail when the apartment is on the 4th floor. Check‑in was delayed despite being within the posted hours. I had to wait half an hour for someone to show up, then arrived to find the elevator off, and had to wait an additional half hour for the generator to be switched on. The service was unfriendly, unhelpful, and far from professional. Overall, this was an appalling experience. I strongly recommend booking elsewhere. This place is absolutely not worth any amount of money.
