Mill Creek is the best place to stay in Lake Geneva - walking distance to everything!
The Mill Creek Inn has spacious suite-style rooms with a kitchenette, living room area, work/laptop area, and enclosed bedroom. The hotel has a country style with lots of home-y touches, knick-knacks, and seasonal decorations. While most hotels are eliminating continental breakfast, Mill Creek has a free hot and cold breakfast buffet every morning, with scrambled eggs, sausage links, bacon, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, French toast, pancakes, oatmeal, cereal, muffins, donuts, toast, yogurt, orange and apple juice and hard boiled eggs. The seating area is small but you can take your breakfast to your room or eat on the veranda if it's nice outside. The kitchenette had a refrigerator and microwave where we could store our beverages and leftovers from area restaurants, allowing us to save some money on food and drink on our long weekend. We celebrated a birthday and the kids came to join us so we were pleased to have a place for them to gather to enjoy cake and beverages after our Lake Geneva cruise. They have a game room, small fitness area and pool and sitting area in the lobby with free soup, coffee and tea, candy to snack on, an aquarium and lots of books to read. The owners understand how today's guests use technology. There are places to charge your phone in the room and in the common areas. We even met the owner, as she was in the lobby area one day and asked us how we were enjoying our stay - we told her how wonderful it was. We were celebrating our 70th birthdays (we were both born in October) and when they learned this they put a Happy Birthday sign up in the elevator with our names and decorated our room with balloons, petals, flameless candles and a birthday gift bag with body lotion and snacks! We could see that they do this for any guests who mention they are staying there to celebrate a special birthday or anniversary - there are Happy Anniversary and Birthday decorations in the elevator that can be personalized with a laminated sign.
We love half & half in our coffee and the breakfast buffet only had Coffee Mate so we used milk. The swimming pool and hot tub were being repaired on the weekend of our stay so we'll have to come back when they are fixed.

Disappointing stay: very noisy, dated, and uncomfortable.
Good location and friendly staff
The hotel was extremely noisy, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The post office next door was a major issue, with delivery trucks beginning to arrive as early as 4:00 a.m. Unfortunately, the rooms were also poorly soundproofed. When the guest in the room above used the jacuzzi, the noise was so loud that it felt like being next to a jet engine. The rooms and overall facilities are quite dated and in need of renovation. The mattresses were worn out and uncomfortable, which further detracted from the experience. Overall, the noise, outdated condition, and poor-quality mattresses made for a disappointing stay.
